ANISA LAID TO REST (8/2007)
Sadly, on Monday, August 13th, 2007, a Budjon Show String Icon, Budjon Stardust Anisa EX-96, was laid to rest at her home at Budjon Farms in Lomira, Wisconsin, USA, due to uncontrollable complications that arose following an emergency C-Section.
Due to calve the first part of September with what would have been her 23rd heifer calf (total of ET & natural daughters), Anisa would have been a 6th calf 12-year-old cow for this year (with two sets of twins under her belt).
Anisa was a true homebred favorite, with fans across the country that marveled at her extreme size and width, beautiful udder and will to milk (finishing her last lactation with 47,645m 5.3 fat 2520 fat 3.2 protein 1517 protein). Backed by two generations of Excellents (91-pt Eagle & a 90-pt Sexation), she had the complete package.
No stranger to the show ring, she was a four-time All-American Nominee—and only ever nominated as an aged or a 125,000# cow! Winning the Aged Cow Class at the World Dairy Expo in 2003 and placing second in 2005 in the 125,000# class, she was Best Bred & Owned in her respective class both years. In addition, she has been the anchor to the All-American Budjon Best Three Females in 2003 & 2005.
She will also be remembered as part of the “Fabulous Foursome” for Budjon Farms in 2005 that were named National Champions on the Tanbark Trail. Along with homebred herd mates Desire and Eileen and Jersey National Champion Llolyn Jude Griffen, Anisa took home her championship title from the Mideast Fall National show in Louisville, KY.
She has her own spot in our show cow pasture and in our hearts!
